Appalled at Conservative attempt to deny responsibility for low recycling in Winchester. Authorities like New Forest, Basingstoke, Eastleigh, Hart and East Hampshire have doorstep glass collections and (surprise, surprise) recycle more glass. Why not in Winch? Tories blocked it.
Just challenged the council leader on the number of empty homes in the Winchester District: 318 empty for more than 6 months, 95 for more than 2 years, 42 for more than 5 years, 18 for more than 10. Given the pressure on housing in our area, that's scandalous.

Sorry to see @JustineGreening go. We both ran for Parliament in 2001 in Ealing, Acton & Shepherds Bush (and both lost). She was a serious and principled person then - and still seems to be - and we don't have enough of those in government.
